Everyone has something they want that gets them out of bed in the morning. But I meet a lot of people who think they want something, whether it be to lose weight, get healthy, repair a lost relationship, earn more money, but for one reason or another they are not willing or able to do what it takes to get that something. These people spend a lot of time and energy focusing on their hurt or anger or sadness or bitterness that comes from not having something that you want that you think you worked so hard for. Maybe they don't know what it takes. Maybe they expected the road to be easier, the challenges to be milder, the hurdles to be shorter. In our country we suffer from the curse of having too much. If everywhere you look you see bigger, better, faster, more, you miss out on the journey. You miss out on the lessons you get from trying and failing and getting back up and trying again and thinking you don't have it in you and then finding that you do. These lessons are necessary for life.
What if these people who are spending so much time thinking about and acting on their belief that they don't have what they want were to stop spending that time thinking about not having things and started spending that time going out and getting what they want? Ask yourself, really, is this a scary thought? Would you know who you are if you didn't have your bitterness or sadness or anger of hurt? Is the real horror not that you won't get want you want but that you will and that it will change your whole life?
Please learn to let go of these past hurts. Move on and be excited about what your life can become. Each day presents new opportunities and you may find that one day you have exactly what you want. Even if it isn't what you originally yearned for.

The Life Pursuit
How well do you know yourself? Do you consider yourself a person of strength or integrity? Do you always do the right thing? Do you treat everyone you meet with the same respect you would want for yourself?
Are you being honest with yourself about what you want in this life? Have you even ever asked yourself what is your true purpose? What inspires you? What turns you on? What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Or...are you just getting by...just surviving...waiting out the days until the end is here? Reacting to life instead of creating the life that you want?
What's standing in your way?
